Hi, Everyone! Just got back from a week of vacation in South Georgia. It was a good week, but it never ceases to amaze me how a week of vacation can hit "warp speed"!
As we drove past the fields in South Georgia, it was evident there is a serious drought going on! Everything is dry as dust. The county south of where we were (Ware County) is beseiged by a 100,000 + acre wildfire. Because of the drought and high winds, the firefighters can do little to contain this huge blaze. Many homes have been lost, and hundreds of acres destroyed because of lack of rain and overabundance of wind.
Many people I spoke with are greatly concerned about the drought. Many is the time this week I heard the question, "Why is God withholding the rain?" I noticed many praying for rain last Sunday, but no one brought their umbrella as a sign of faith!
As I drove past fields and homes where the vegetation is dead and dry, I thought about another drought that is far more worse than what the people in South Georgia are going through..... I had to ask myself every morning during my quiet time... "What if there were a spiritual drought in my soul?"
Jesus said that He was the Living Water when He witnessed to the woman at the well. If my soul is dry and experiencing a spiritual drought, it's not God's fault. It's probably because I'm not "going to the well" and letting the Living Water keep my soul hydrated.
I don't know about you, but I don't want my soul to go through a spiritual drought and wind up being dry as dust. Pray for the people in South Georgia. Pray for physical rain. They need it. More than that, pray that God will send a spiritual rain upon His people, and that the Living Water will settle the dust of sin and apathy and bring about fruit in the lives of His people.
Send the rain, Lord! Send the rain!
Hey friends! Isn't Danny's Blog great. He should make it into a book...like Max Lacado! His blurbs are just a great as Max's!
I am back on line and this is probably the easiest way to let you know my new email address. It is glilmaree@aol.com. If you send it to the old one, it will come back to you like a boom-er-ang!
